Infrared heaters, rapid heaters and wall convectors. Electric heaters from Viessmann have a wide range of uses: In the bathroom during spring/autumn, when it is not worth turning up the central heating yet. Or in the conservatory, garage or basement, where there might be a hobby room, for example. There are many reasons why an electric area heating system is the best solution for temporary heat generation in such cases.

Benefits of wall mounted electric radiators

With Viessmann as a system supplier for conventional and electric heat generators, end customers receive high quality heating systems that guarantee heating convenience at the touch of a button. These appliances are virtually maintenance-free and quick and easy to install. Thanks to how they work, only low heat losses occur during operation.

Vitoplanar electric heaters are ideal for modernisation of older buildings as well as for new build projects. In the case of the latter, they can even serve as an economical sole heater, depending on the insulation value of the building envelope. However, they are more commonly used as a supplement to a heat pump or gas condensing boiler.

Variety of models and discreet design

Infrared heaters are available in different output stages, sizes and designs, and meet every heating need. Electric mirror heaters are particularly interesting for users who value functionality. These act as radiators on the one hand and reflective surfaces on the other. This is thanks to the highly polished surface, which gives the radiators the appearance of a conventional mirror. If you prefer a classic design, choose a model with a white surface.

Vitoplanar  EI6  E –– almost invisible

The Vitoplanar  EI6  E infrared panel is only noticeable when in operation. With the highest radiation efficiency, this infrared heater emits heat efficiently without wasting energy. Installed flush with walls and ceilings, the heater is very inconspicuous. It can be controlled with a hardwired connection or remotely.

Vitoplanar EI2 DI – add your own design

The glass front of a Vitoplanar infrared heater is a blank canvas for your creativity. It can be printed with your choice of design – a company logo, holiday snap or family photo. Let your creativity flow! The heating panel can also be installed vertically or horizontally. With outputs from 180 to 700 W, the Vitoplanar EI2 DI is available in four sizes.

These electric wall heaters provide pleasant radiant heat

Vitoplanar systems are efficient and safe, no matter what their design. This is achieved through the consistently high radiant effect, two temperature limiters for a high level of safety, well insulated backing for maximum heat radiation to the front, maintenance-free technology without a magnetic field and, last but not least, flexible installation options. The appliances also have an open window function. This ensures that the appliance switches off when the window is open and does not operate inefficiently.

Infrared heating

Advanced electric area heating systems often come in the form of wall heaters. Depending on the model, they are mounted above the floor or at eye level. They emit thermal energy as infrared radiant heat to the room where they are installed. Many of us are very familiar with infrared rays from the field of medicine. They are used to warm the body pleasantly before a massage, for example. And infrared lamps are a popular choice in the home for alleviating the symptoms of a cold.

However, this radiant heat can also be used for heating. The infrared heaters developed for this achieve their full effect when the infrared radiant heat meets objects and people in the building. The energy is then evenly released again to the living space.

Wall convectors: cosy warmth in no time at all

Electric area heating systems are available not only as infrared heaters, but also as wall convectors. If these convectors are run on electricity, they release thermal energy to the environment in the form of heated indoor air. Heat generation is extremely fast and the appliances are relatively inexpensive to purchase. Whether as a support for the existing radiator in the bathroom or as a complete heating solution for rarely used rooms: Viessmann wall convectors are available in several output stages. This makes them suitable for multiple application areas. Detailed information on this type of heating can be found on the Vitoplanar wall convectors page.

Rapid heaters are extremely compact

Yet another electric heater for wall mounting is the Vitoplanar rapid heater. As a direct  heater, it also gives off heat to the room in the form of convection and can be installed almost anywhere thanks to its compact design. This radiator also runs on electricity, for which there is a connection in practically every residential building. If you want to protect the environment, you can also buy green electricity for the rapid heater.

Economical modernisation with an area heating system

Infrared heaters in particular are frequently an alternative to traditional radiators. Replacing outdated night storage heaters – of which there are half a million in Germany alone, according to recent figures – with modern, slimline infrared heaters, is a particularly economical solution in modernisation projects, for example. After all, the power connection is already available. There is no need for costly installation of heating pipes, natural gas connection to the building or investment in a conventional heating system. The Vitoplanar EI2 is particularly suitable in these cases. This infrared appliance has the option of heating with convection or infrared.

Vitoplanar electric underfloor heating system

Warm feet at low cost! The underfloor heating systems in the Vitoplanar product range work with very low temperatures. This is thanks to their special design. Read on to find out about all the benefits of electric area heating.

Pleasant radiant heat with minimal effort

Unlike conventional underfloor heating, the Vitoplanar EF2 offers the advantage that it can be retrofitted relatively easily. It gives off the same pleasant radiant heat to the room, but unlike conventional underfloor heating with a heating water connection, the Vitoplanar EF2 does not have heating water flowing through it. Instead, its heat comes from electrical conductors. You can equip your bathroom or kitchen with reliable underfloor heating during modernisation work, and then enjoy pleasantly warm feet – even when the central heating is switched off in summer.
